When you think of the most powerful superheroes, one of the first names you would say is Wonder Woman! She has super strength, can fly, and has super speed. What this dynamic heroic figure has that makes her different from the others is her courageousness, her compassion, and selflessness. Wonder Woman is real, she resides in Florida and goes by the name of Supa Cindy. She’s a real-life Wonder Woman because she fiercely owns her gifts and makes the most of every opportunity.
Miami’s Real-Life Wonder Woman Taking Over the Airwaves and Beyond
Supa Cindy is hardworking and committed to her craft which is radio. For over 15 years, she’s rocked Miami’s airwaves on 99 JAMZ and took her voice statewide with a syndicated show on Orlando’s Star 94.5! Next, came her own media company, Cindy Media. She was able to produce her own audience based talk show “Let’s Pop Off”. Also, she hosted freestyles on social media. Unfortunately, Covid-19 put those shows on pause. However, she was not going to let Covid stop her from pursuing her goals.

Upon her arrival back to Miami, she had to reacclimatize herself with the Miami Nightlife, “When I came here it was all Uncle Luke booty shake music and I could not relate”, shares Supa Cindy. She went back to school at Miami-Dade College to pursue her goal of becoming a dietician. She interned at Although, she struggled early to find work after graduation. “It was my dream to be a camera person for the news and so after I graduated nobody would hire me. I was crying at the time I also wrote a lot”, expressed Supa Cindy. At the time she did have a job with FPL, while she was interning at 99 Jamz.
Her love for radio would soon force her to make a decision that would change the course of her life. Another member by the name of Teddy T gave her an invitation to produce for him. “I was worried that I would lose FPL, which was my job through college. He was like you come to produce for me with Al B. Sylk. So that’s what I did, I was an intern that didn’t get paid. In the process of interning there, I got fired from FPL,” Cindy explained.
How Supa Cindy Turned Her Struggles into Stardom
Her journey to becoming one of Miami’s hottest personalities begins with the realization of your dream, “So what’s really crazy is I was born in Miami and my parents got divorced. So then my sister, myself, and my mom moved to New York, Queens. I lived with my grandmother and I went to middle school and high school. I was totally messing up in high school, I barely graduated. So my mom was like, “no we’re going back to Miami”, expresses Supa Cindy.
From day one Supa Cindy has always put an importance on the community, “When I first started radio a lot of young girls would call me. They would ask me for advice and we were really interacting with the audience. So I started getting many calls from young girls and they would start calling me a few times a week. That’s how my nonprofit Supa Friends started, and it was mainly focusing on young girls but then it kind of spread to young people in general”, shares Supa Cindy.
Moving forward Cindy wants to also focus on supporting foster children, even the ones that have aged out. During these times, Supa Cindy has had to make some adjustments to her lifestyle.

Supa Cindy’s Real Talk for Rising Creatives in a Changing Industry
Supa Cindy is a people person, but now people are not as accessible as they used to be. Which has affected her various pursuits within the industry. However, Cindy does have a piece of advice for upcoming creatives. “You have to learn how to produce your own show, create content for your own show, edit, get phone calls from listeners, post on social media you literally have to do everything yourself because there are not 10 people in the studio anymore. You’re literally by yourself if not with one more person so I think you have to wear a lot of hats, even if a specific role is what interests you”, shares Supa Cindy.
Supa Cindy stands out as a true Miami icon, always putting her purpose first and never letting her position overshadow her mission. She wants to keep people connected and laugh in the community. Some even praise her for her openness to communicate and interact with the community.
