The Mindset for Success: Sky’s the Limit

In life, attitude shapes everything. While many follow the status quo, others break free, striving for bigger goals against all odds. Top achievers will tell you they mastered their mind before success. To reach the next level, embrace what Fly Guy DC knows best: a sky’s-the-limit mindset. Before his Atlanta fame, a determined young man in D.C. built his ethics on family.

Audley “Fly Guy DC” Feemster Jr., began his path to success by cultivating his charisma and leadership early on, starting within his own home. By being an inspiration to his five younger siblings, he made it a priority to set the right example—one they could confidently follow. As he put it, “I wanted to set a good example and empower them in knowing the sky’s the limit and they can do anything. I’ve always had the mentality to be successful.”

That mindset, importantly, never wavered. In fact, it followed him every step of the way. When he moved to Atlanta in 2007 with his family, his drive only intensified. From that point on, the hard work never stopped.

He refocused and grew leaps and bounds at Morrow High School as a star basketball player, which developed much of his strong characteristics. Many want to be successful but are unwilling to put in the blood, sweat, and tears it takes to get there. Thinking big takes willpower and a lot of work—more work than perhaps many of us are willing to invest in one project during our lifetime. For Audley, that’s nothing. With basketball, he gained the heart of a lion, charisma, and social skills.

“I’ve always had the mentality to be successful.”

I know what you’re thinking—when did the Fly Guy DC persona take shape? This part of his journey began in college at one of the illustrious HBCUs, Clark Atlanta University. There, he sharpened his professional edge by graduating Cum Laude with a bachelor’s in criminal justice, all while fully immersing himself in the experience. “Going to an HBCU shaped me in an incredible way by giving me the opportunity to test my skills through networking and giving me an immediate platform to hone my skills from amateur to professional,” expresses Fly Guy DC.

Fly Guy DC’s Brand Expansion: Radio, TV, and Giving Back

After dominating Atlanta’s hosting scene, Fly Guy DC turned the spotlight inward, branding himself not just as a talent, but as a movement. In 2015, he launched Dreams 2 Reality on Highly Unique Radio, diving into the world of radio. His hustle paid off quickly as he refined his craft and caught the attention of Atlanta’s top station, Streetz 94.5. They brought him on for DJ Holiday’s 6-10 PM slot, which soon turned into his own show with co-host Ferrari Simmons.

By 2021, Fly Guy DC was hosting the same time slot where he first got his start—proof of his grit and determination. Fast forward to 2025, and he’s now hosting Hot at Nite on Hot 107.9 with DJ Miasia Symone, showing he’s not just part of the game—he’s leading it.

Fly Guy DC’s sky’s the limit mentality continues to help him think about the bigger picture. After being named one of the top 20 millennials in ATL, he immediately seized the momentum and began appearing on various networks such as MTV, Nickelodeon, and more. From hosting to being a radio personality to embarking on the journey to becoming a television star, he has now become a multimedia triple threat, and he has yet to scratch the surface.

When Fly Guy DC isn’t on the mic, he continues to embody the example he set out to be from the very beginning, back when he was in Washington D.C. Mentoring the youth all across Georgia. With this platform, his vision is to teach the youth the power of knowledge and embarking on long-lasting success.

“I always make an effort to give back to the community, go to schools, speak on career days, read to adolescents, mentor, and even host pep rallies and proms. When I’m done, I want a legacy of longevity. Ultimately, I will have a non-profit. It’s something my team and I are working on, and I’m excited for how it’s going to help others,” shares Fly Guy DC.

Legacy of Resilience: The Road Ahead

The story of Fly Guy DC is one that, while still unfolding, offers invaluable lessons. His hard work and rapid rise to stardom inspire and challenge others to push their limits and strive for greatness. First, find your passion. Next, share it with others. Then, collaborate and surround yourself with those who elevate you. Above all, shake off any shackles that have been holding you down. Seek out individuals who share your passion, and, importantly, ignore the naysayers and critics. Let the envy of others roll off your back, especially those who wish you harm. Most importantly, don’t settle for ordinary—be extraordinary. Because, as Fly Guy DC always says, “The sky’s the limit, and you can do anything.”
