From the Southside streets of Atlanta, producer Bankhead has been a quiet force—stacking platinum plaques and industry respect one hard-hitting beat at a time. With his new project DaBank, he steps from behind the boards into the spotlight, cementing himself as the go-to for artists chasing that authentic ATL sound with global reach.

In a recent conversation for Highly Unique Magazine, the prolific producer, who clarified his name, stating “My name is Bankhead, that’s my real name, and it ain’t got nothing to do with no Westside s***”, explained that the album title is more than just branding; it’s a statement of his industry value.
Producer Bankhead: “N***as, know why they come to the Bank!”
Expresses Bankhead, referencing his track record of delivering hit records and career-defining moments for every artist he works with.
Bankhead Has the Ear: Refining the Trap Sound
Bankhead’s journey to becoming an established hitmaker began with a relentless focus on the fundamental elements of music, sharpened by what he jokingly refers to as “YouTube University.” He recalls obsessively listening to music, developing a rare ability to isolate and process different sonic layers.
Producer Bankhead: “I can hear a song… I don’t hear nothing else but the beat… then I can hear nothing but the lyrics.”
Blending natural talent with lessons from legends like Metro Boomin and Sonny Digital, he quickly mastered his craft. He now channels that focus into a sound he believes needs to be tighter in Atlanta’s current musical climate. While the overall landscape is strong, Bankhead asserts that refinement, not reinvention, is the key to maintaining dominance.
Producer Bankhead: “I don’t think it need to change, we just need to tighten up as a whole.”

Roster of Winners: The Power of the Female Wave
The most striking indicator of Bankhead’s influence is his heavy involvement with some of the biggest names in Hip Hop. His resume includes Rod Wave, Fetty Wap, Icewear Vezzo, and the mandatory ATL star Lightskin Keisha, but the synergy he’s found with female artists is exceptional. On “DaBank,” he features powerhouses like Gloss Up and Omeretta, alongside his long-time collaborator and friend Latto.
Bankhead notes his focus is purposeful, crediting their energy and the power of women leading today’s charts.
Producer Bankhead: “I like the vibe female rappers bring to the studio.”
His early work with Latto marked a defining chapter in his career, and he still calls her one of the best in the game. Their chemistry shines on her debut Queen of Da Souf, with tracks like “He Say She Say” and “No Hook” standing out as classic city bangers. He continues creating bangers today like off his new compilation album DaBank “Twerk Somethin”.
Producer Bankhead: “That motherf***er hard… Every DJ got to play this.”
Another highlight from the album is the collaboration “Come Hea,” which features Ceo Trayle and Bokee Barbs. The track perfectly captures the potent, authentic energy that defines both the artists and Bankhead’s production style.
The 80Apez Dynasty: A Blueprint for Collective Success
Bankhead’s vision extends far beyond his solo career. He is the founder of the production company, 80Apez, a collective he built with producers he’s known for over a decade. He stressed that their success is a shared victory, founded on talent, dedication, and mutual respect.
Producer Bankhead: “The whole 80Apez… we all help each other do this sh*t.”

This team-first philosophy has clearly paid off. “We all platinum producers now,” he says proudly. The success has only fueled bigger dreams, with a bucket list of collaborators that includes Lil Durk, Gunna, Billie Eilish, and Jelly Roll.
Producer Bankhead: “We are making a legacy out of this sh*t… feeding our kids’ kids. This sh*t was destined, I’m really highly unique, I’m telling you.”
‘Da Bank‘ serves as a financial statement and a powerful declaration that Producer Bankhead has officially solidified his space at the top of the Hip Hop production game. The deluxe edition is on the way, promising more collaborations and more definitive hits. As the Atlanta music scene continues to evolve, it’s clear that Bankhead is not just keeping up; he’s setting the interest rate.
It’s simple, if you’re looking for that raw, undeniable heat, you go to take a trip to the Southside and tap into ‘DaBank’. Bankhead is the real deal.
